Creative Mask-Making Workshop for Children (Ages 8–12)
Join illustrator and workshop leader Sally Anderson for a fun and imaginative art workshop where children will design and create their own unique masks using collage, drawing and mixed-media techniques.
This creative session is all about encouraging imagination, self-expression and confidence through art. Using a combination of colourful papers, Posca pens and a variety of art materials, children will create bold, characterful masks inspired by animals, fantasy creatures and their own creative ideas.
Throughout the workshop, children will be encouraged to experiment with colour, pattern and texture while developing their artistic skills in a relaxed and supportive environment. There is no pressure to create a perfect piece of artwork – the focus is on having fun, exploring materials and enjoying the creative process.
I’m a children’s book illustrator, mural artist and art educator with many years of experience teaching both children and adults. I love helping young people discover new ways to be creative and build confidence through making art. During the session I’ll provide demonstrations, guidance and plenty of encouragement to help everyone develop their ideas and create something they can be proud of.
This workshop is suitable for all abilities, whether your child loves drawing every day or simply enjoys getting creative and trying something new. By the end of the session, each participant will leave with their own finished mask artwork and plenty of inspiration to continue creating at home.
