Join Our Quilting Workshop!
Are you the type of sewer who is always looking for a quicker way to work? If you are, then this technique may appeal to you. Quilt As You Go patchwork is sewn on a machine but, as the name implies, rather than making the patchwork panel and then quilting it, these 2 parts of the process are carried out together by stitching the patchwork pieces directly onto the wadding.
Your tutor, Melinda, is looking forward to welcoming you and sharing this wonderfully efficient sewing technique that lets you piece and quilt at the same time.
In this workshop we will be working around a log cabin theme which particularly lends itself to the Quilt As You Go method to make up a panel which will be quilted, backed and bound for you to take home to show off your skills.
What You’ll Do
- Create a Log Cabin panel: Build a beautiful log‑cabin‑style patchwork block using the Quilt As You Go method.
- Sew and quilt simultaneously: Stitch your fabric pieces directly onto the wadding, combining two stages into one smooth process.
- Use a sewing machine confidently: Gain practical experience sewing with accuracy and rhythm.
- Finish your panel: Back and bind your piece so it’s ready to take home and show off.
