High Peak Artists @ Gallery in the Gardens

High Peak Artists comprises more than 40 artists and makers from in and around the High Peak area.  The group operate a members only gallery within the Pavilion Gardens complex – ‘Gallery in the Gardens’.

A formally constituted group for 30 years, the group have operated in the Pavilion Gardens since 2009.  They attract the cream of local artists & makers, the majority are professional and include award winners, authors & teachers, with many members offering workshops.

The gallery is open every day except Christmas Day, Boxing Day & New Year’s Day.  At least one artist is always on duty.  It displays a full range of eclectic work including oil, acrylic, watercolour and mixed media paintings, photography, ceramics, textiles, printmaking, silk painting, illustration, designer jewellery, turned wood, stained glass & fused glass and much more. There is also a huge range of limited edition prints and artist greeting cards.

Art in the Octagon 13th-15th July 2026

During the Buxton Festival Fringe in July,  the group hold a 3 day art extravaganza in the adjacent Octagon Hall – ‘Art in the Octagon’. This year it takes place on 13th,14th & 15th July 2026 and is open daily from 10am-5pm.  30 members sell their work and they all demonstrate their art or craft on their stands.  Special Guest Artists this year are Clare Allan and husband and wife duo Rob & Sally Wilson.
