Heirloom Angels & Flying Cats and Dogs – decorative Wire and Foil Work

Join me at The Slipper Studio for a relaxing day of making, that will get your festive to do list firmly on track.

Fine and flexible wire is a lovely material to work with, enabling you to create characterful objects, with a drawn-like quality to them. You’ll also get the opportunity to explore using recycled metal foil and bought foils for embossing.

We will explore joining techniques with wire, alongside: wrapping, shaping and sculpting, to create festive angels. Metal foils are also a great material to explore, enabling you to cut and emboss your designs, creating a range of flying cats, dogs, birds and other winged creatures of your choice; they are sure to take pride of place in your home this Christmas, or, if you can bear to part with them, they will make great gifts and present toppers.

This workshop will suit folks with experience of a range of creative processes and techniques, ready to release a bit of pre Christmas magic.

Sunday 8th November 2026, 10 – 4pm, with just 5 places, including: tuition, most materials and use of equipment; just bring your lunch.
