Artist profile

Phillip Carter

Phillip is an Author, Comedian, and Streamer. His work blends literature, comedy, and performance, creating new hybrid worlds. Phillip first explored Buxton in college, doing archaeological and geological field work in a landscape that felt wild and alien compared to the suburbs he was raised in. He did not want to leave. He went on to become a writer, with a particular focus on the perception and passing of time. Buxton would remain a continuing inspiration. Science Fiction is a very human thing, and the inspiration for it is constantly recharged by exploration.

Phillip is bringing his Sci-Fi inspired comedy show, Awkward re-entry, which mixes the human with the cosmic, to Buxton Fringe in July 2026.
