Come and enjoy a fun, relaxed and creative evening learning how to make a beautiful raffia coil coaster using this wonderfully natural, strong and versatile fibre from the raffia palm.

Your tutor, Sarah, is looking forward to welcoming you and sharing the joy of working with this traditional technique in a friendly, supportive setting.

What You’ll Do

• Learn the basics of the raffia coil method
• Create your own handmade raffia coaster from start to finish
• Choose from a gorgeous range of raffia colours
• Enjoy a calming evening of making, chatting and creativity

You Will Explore

• How to start a coil project confidently
• Making your first stitch and building your coil
• Adding in new raffia smoothly as you work
• Shaping, stitching and finishing your coaster neatly

This Workshop is Perfect for

• Complete beginners
• Anyone who loves natural materials and handmade crafts
• People looking for a relaxing, mindful creative evening
• Those who enjoy learning a new skill in a small group

No experience is needed … if you can thread a needle and make simple stitches, you can do this!

Sarah will guide you through each step, making sure you feel confident and supported throughout.

What to Bring

• Reading glasses if needed
• Please feel free to bring a small, easy to eat snack with you, if you are going to miss having an evening meal. We can provide you with a plate.

Most importantly, bring your curiosity and enjoy the process.

Workshop Details

• Time: 6pm – 9pm
• Arrival: From 5:30pm for a warm welcome and a cuppa
• Group size: Limited to 8 people for a friendly, supportive atmosphere

Cost

£36 + 80p card fee
This includes all the materials needed to create your raffia coil coaster and refreshments during the evening.
