Join Our Make Your Own Felt Pot Workshop

Your tutor, Rachel, is looking forward to welcoming you on this make your own felt pot workshop and will be guiding you step by step as you explore a new and exciting felting technique.

“In this workshop, your pot is formed around a plastic ball, with your design laid up on the ball before adding fibre layers. The fun begins when we bounce the ball on the table to felt the fibres, and ends with the exciting moment of turning your pot right-side out to reveal your unique design!”

What You’ll Do

During this hands-on workshop, you will:

  • Learn the technique of felting around a ball

  • Lay up your chosen design and colours directly onto the ball

  • Build up fibre layers, keeping them wet with warm soapy water

  • Bounce and hand-felt your fibres to form your pot

  • Turn your felt pot the right way round to reveal your finished design

The focus is on creative experimentation, fun, and learning a new 3D felting technique.

It is suggested to select one of the colour ranges for your pot since this will give you plenty of scope.  There will be a limited range of additional colour choices available on the day and a range of coloured yarns are provided to create a design.

Note that slight colour variations may occur during the carding process.

Choices are:- 1. Oranges  2. Greens.  3. Aquas.  4. Blues
