Chesterfield Lace Making | Derbyshire Makes

Celebrating Lace Making in Chesterfield

A celebration of local lace making past, present and future, highlighting its role in contemporary craft. The display at Chesterfield Library is open from Saturday 18th April to 2nd May and will feature a new lace artwork created by Designer Maker Clare Gage. Curated by Chesterfield Museum this display will tell the story of lacemaking in Chesterfield with examples from the museum archive alongside work from local contemporary lace makers.

Saturday 25th April
Join us in Chesterfield Library’s activities room for a demonstration of lace making from North East Derbyshire Lacemakers with hands on activities for all ages. Take part in drop in workshop activities with Clare Gage and local lacemakers and have the opportunity to try your hand at beginners lace making skills. 10:30am-2:30pm. Chesterfield Library. Activity Room
