Monsters, Magic and Spaceships: Why We’re Drawn To Imaginary Worlds panel
Join Lauren McMenemy, David Green and Via Macnab for Monsters, Magic and Spaceships: Why we’re drawn to imaginary worlds.
In this panel, three writers of horror, fantasy and sci-fi talk about speculative fiction. Why do we find joy and refuge in it? Is it escapism? Or do we use it to process the real world? We will explore how imaginary worlds, monsters and magic can offer escape, rest and comfort even at the darkest reaches of the genres. What do fantasy, sci-fi and horror offer us that the real world doesn’t?
