Join us at Hopton Hall Gallery, in the centre of Ashbourne, for a relaxing afternoon of making, that will get your festive to do list firmly on track.
Metal foils are a great material to explore, enabling you to cut and emboss your designs and create a range of beautiful and unique hanging Christmas decorations. Bring along ideas that inspire you or take inspiration from a range of both traditional and contemporary festive designs – think Russian dolls, ginger bread houses and Scandi designs. Whatever you create, they are sure to take pride of place in your home this Christmas, or, if you can bear to part with them, they will make great gifts or present toppers.
This workshop will suit people with a range of creative experiences and all levels of ability, ready to enjoy a little bit of pre Christmas magic.
Experienced artist, tutor and maker Liz Wellby, will be your tutor for the workshop. With a particular interest in sculpture and printmaking, Liz completed a Fine Arts degree at Loughborough University and post-graduate studies at Nottingham Trent University, before returning to Derbyshire. Liz now lives and works in a small village just a few miles from Ashbourne, kept company by her husband and cat called Bert.

A creative goody bag.
Step by step tuition.
Most materials and use of equipment – please bring 1-2 empty tomato purée tubes or similar foil tubes.
Welcome tea or coffee and biscuits.
Good company and creative chat.
Workshops are on the 1st floor via steps.
