Flower Gardens Fused Glass Workshop with Stevie Davies Glass

Event details

Join Stevie Davies for this craft workshop where you will use a variety of pre-cut glass materials including rods, frit and frit balls to transform into your choice of a bowl, hanging or free standing wave form. Create a design inspired by wild flower gardens and fantasy flowers, you’ll enjoy playing with glass shapes and textures to create your own abstract and colourful glass piece.

Whether you create a design inspired by wild flower gardens, fields of Poppies, a layer of Bluebells or hills covered in Heather you’ll enjoy playing with glass shapes and textures to create your own abstract and colourful creation. Choose from 4 options of pre cut glass bases and create either a bowl, sculptural wave or hanging panel.
Round Bowl – approx. 17cm.  Wave – approx. 38cm across x 7.5cm tall. Round Hanging – approx. 17cm. Rectangle 40×7.5cm.

Get making by snipping glass rods, designing with glass tiles, applying crushed glass frit and place frit balls for your colourful flower blooms. The main thing to remember is to have fun! You will play with different types of decorative glass elements and learn a little about how the kiln firing will change them. Simply complete your design during the session and leave it at the studio for me to fire, finish and clean up for you. We will make arrangements to pick up a few weeks later or I can post your finished piece at cost.

I will talk through all the Health & Safety in the session but I want you to know now, you will be handling pre-cut glass pieces, they have pointy ends but with the right handling, they won’t hurt you.  Recommended for ages 13+, all under 16s to be accompanied by a paying adult.

Booking essential via my website. Recommended for ages 13+, all under 16s to be accompanied by a paying adult.

Workshop times: 1.30pm to 3.30pm
