Stitching Ashbourne – Central Panel Sewing Circle (Morning)

Join us for a special Stitching Ashbourne workshop focused on creating the central panel of our large-scale community textile artwork. This focal piece celebrates Ashbourne’s iconic buildings and cultural events, as chosen by the community.

This is a wonderful opportunity to add your stitches to the heart of the project. Some stitching experience will be helpful, we’ll be using basic stitches such as running, blanket, chain, stem, and hand-turned appliqué, but full guidance and support will be provided in this fully facilitated session.

With a small group (maximum 10 participants), the session will be relaxed and friendly, offering a cosy creative atmosphere. Come along, enjoy a calm and welcoming space, and help bring the centerpiece of Stitching Ashbourne to life!

About the Project

Stitching Ashbourne is about community, creativity, and connection. Together, we will create a large-scale embroidered textile work that celebrates the built and cultural heritage of Ashbourne.

Surrounding a centerpiece depicting some of Ashbourne’s most iconic buildings will be over 100 hand-stitched squares, each one telling a unique story, memory, or celebration of what Ashbourne means to its people. Whether you’re 6 or 95, this is your chance to stitch your story into Ashbourne’s history.

Come along, bring a friend, and be part of something truly special. Together, we’ll stitch Ashbourne’s story.
