Arts Derbyshire is a registered charity that works with arts organisations and artists across Derbyshire. We are looking to recruit a new Board Trustee whose primary role will be to act as Treasurer. We welcome applications from all kinds of backgrounds and experience, and experience in the arts is not essential. Our deadline for applications is Friday, 21st November 2025.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Treasurer is not expected to deal with day-to-day activities, which remain the duty of the Bookkeeper, Operations Manager and Director. The successful candidate should be able to take the lead on finance matters, have oversight, and act as an interpreter in financial matters to trustees who may have less understanding of finance.
There are no additional legal duties as Treasurer; it is a specific role which supports the board, and the board remains collectively responsible for the governance and management of the charity.

The time commitment usually falls within 2-4 hours per month, but in the few months following the end of the financial year, when the preparation of accounts takes place, there will be approximately 4-6 hours a month.
