Grant Funding: British Trombone Society are Offering Instrument Loan Schemes for Anyone Aged 25 and Under

Instrument Loan Scheme

The BTS possesses seven instruments

  • Conn 88H F/Bb tenor (x2)
  • Vintage King 2B tenor
  • Rath R400 F/Bb tenor
  • Yamaha YSL-88GO F/Bb tenor
  • Conn 62H bass
  • Voigt J-164N bass

These are available to members age 25 and under. Their second Conn 88H instrument has been kindly donated by the Halesworth Arts Festival, Suffolk in fond memory of trombonist Tony Parsons (1938 – 2019), the Yamaha by Peter Moore, the King 2B by Callum Au, and the Voigt J-164N by Jürgen Voigt Brass.

The scheme is aimed at any Member of the Society age 25 and under (on 1st Jan 2025) whose current circumstances prevent the purchase of the type of instrument required. The instruments listed are available now and the BTS welcomes applications.

Loans will be on a case-by-case basis, and for no longer than 12 months. Delivery or collection of instruments will be on a case-by-case basis and any carriage costs will be shared between the successful applicant and the BTS. The loan period runs from 1st October to 30th September.

Potential borrowers are invited to apply for a loan trombone and are required to supply details of their current financial situation. Applications will be dealt with in the strictest of confidence.

They welcome applications for the instruments from 1 August with a deadline of 31 August.
