“Lauren Nicole Whitter is a physical theatre performer, actress, poet & clown based in Derby. Her work blends movement, clowning, and spoken word to explore mental health, identity & culture.
Her solo show Mental shares her journey growing up in a predominantly white area—navigating love, mental health, relationships & finding her voice. Told through puppetry, physical theatre & a little bit of chaos, it’s raw, messy, funny & hopeful.
She’s worked with Nottingham Playhouse, Derby Theatre, Royal and Derngate Theatre, Tom Dale Company & more. Lauren runs Anansi Theatre Company, making bold work by and for women of colour. She’s also a yoga teacher who brings breath & movement into everything she does”
