New Book Offers Groundbreaking Guidance for Artists Working in Mental Health and Wellbeing

A Creative Health Communication Framework by Dr Jane Hearst is now available from Routledge – with discount for Arts Derbyshire readers

Arts Derbyshire is thrilled to celebrate the publication of A Creative Health Communication Framework, a powerful new academic text authored by Midlands-based Creative Health Consultant and Media Producer, Dr Jane Hearst. Published by Routledge, this book equips researchers, policymakers, and creative practitioners with a strategic framework for delivering mental health and wellbeing outputs.

Written primarily during Jane’s PhD at De Montfort University and expanded with practical examples developed during her time as the Midlands Creative Health Associate at the National Centre for Creative Health (NCCH), the framework offers a way to communicate clearly and confidently about the role of arts and creativity in supporting mental health. Drawing on both academic theory and lived experience, the framework was co-created with members of the public to ensure accessibility, relevance, and authenticity.

This timely publication is especially relevant for:

  • Academics and researchers working at the intersection of culture, public health and mental health
  • Health system leaders and strategists shaping Integrated Care Systems and local health initiatives
  • Creative Health practitioners and advocates interested in developing a more diverse, transparent and impactful mental health landscape

Arts Derbyshire readers receive 20% off when purchasing the book from Routledge using the discount code 25ESA2.
