A FINE LINE: THE ART OF DRAWING
An exhibition with 13 Midlands members from the Society of Graphic Fine Art (SGFA). The exhibition will emphasise the importance of drawing that underpins all other genres of painting.
The Society was established in 1919 to promote fine drawing skills in both traditional and contemporary media. Today there are more than 160 elected members of the SGFA across the UK — professional artists from all areas of the art world who all work in drawing and printmaking.
Nowadays in addition to black and white work and traditional drawing skills, the society encourages the use of colour and non-figurative art.
An introductory talk will be delivered by esteemed and renowned local artist, Lewis Noble at 3:00pm on the 29th.
Opening day: Saturday 29th June 14:00 – 18:00
The exhibition will run from the 29th June until the 20th July at the Courtney Gallery in Ashbourne: 50 St John Street, DE6 1GH.
