Spital Arts welcome in the New Year on Saturday January 28th with a classical music concert from the St. James Trio, featuring local Spital resident, George Parsons.
The St James Trio is made up of Jeremy Sampson and John Smart (violins), and George Parsons (piano), a Spital resident.They formed in July 2021 for the first concert, at the London church of St James Muswell Hill. As a Trio, they enjoy exploring the repertoire for two violins and piano, as well as showcasing solo violin repertoire – for both violin and piano, and violin and organ.
The January concert will include music by Bach, Elgar, Mozart, Beethoven, and the beautiful O Magnum Mysterium by the contemporary US composer Morton Lauridsen.
The event takes place on Saturday January 28th at 7.30pm. Doors open at 7pm in St.Leonard’s Church, Valley Road/Hartington Road, Spital, Chesterfield S41 0HA.
