Derby Poetry Festival: Poetry Workshop with Scarlett Ward – QUAD, Derby

Event details

“Space & space: the intergalactic and the white space on the page”: How can we as Poets approach the examination of both Space, as in the galactic, and the space which occupies the small gaps or silences in between the spoken and unspoken, through the relationship between word and page?”

Scarlett Ward is a queer writer living in Brighton but born in Staffordshire. Her debut collection ‘Ache‘ was published by Verve Poetry Press in 2019 and since then she has been shorlisted for the Rebecca Swift foundation’s Women’s Poet Prize. She has delivered poetry workshops for the BBC’s ‘contains strong language‘ programme and for Verve Poetry Festival.

Presented as part of Derby Poetry Festival 2023.

We are dedicated to developing new writing talent in Derby and bringing excellent work to the city. DPF has just entered its fifth year, and 2023 is set to be bigger and better than ever.

We work with local, national and international talent to build a community of like-minded individuals to create a wonderful literary festival.
