Lifelines 2012: Where I'm not from
Friday 20th January, 7.00 - 8.30pm, County Hall Matlock
Lifelines 2012 is a new digital arts and poetry project celebrating the richness and diversity of Derbyshire communities. Join us to launch the project, meet the artists and see some of the work so far.

The Power of Good
Saturday 21st January, 10.30am - 1.30pm, Wirksworth Town Hall
Wirksworth Film presents Matej Minec's gripping Emmy Award winning documentary about the courage and determination of Nicholas Winton who saved the lives of 669 children between March 13th and August 2nd 1939, with guest speaker Iby Knill.

Speak Up, Speak Out Creative Music workshops
Tuesday 24th January, 7.00 - 9.30pm, Donut Creative Arts Studios, Chesterfield
Rap, MC and Beatbox workshops celebrating the richness and diversity of the people living in Derbyshire. Young people can perform alongside nationally recognised artists.

In Transit
Wednesday 25th January - performances at 2pm and 6pm, St. Mary's Church, Wirksworth
INdependDANCE and Learning Through Arts present a powerful dance theatre production that explores three young people's stories of enforced solo migration, with integrated film and an interactive audience. With a curtain raiser exploring the theme of diversity from Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School students and young people from Ashbourne.

Stanislaw Lem: a celebration
Thursday 26th January, 7.15 - 8.45pm, Alfreton library
Stanislaw Lem has many accolades and credits, but his influence is felt more widely than his name is known. The Eastern Bloc's answer to Phillip K Dick? The forefather of sci-fi comedy? The inventor of virtual reality? The Sims computer game? Lemistry is a celebration of the great Polish writer's legacy and a host of stories responding to and influenced by his visions.

Celebrating Black History in Derbyshire
Friday 20th to Monday 30th January, Alfreton library - in library opening hours
'Diverse' presents an exhibition of fascinating images and stories produced for 2011 Black History month.

Holocaust Memorial Day Derbyshire
Friday 27th January 2012, 4.30pm - 6.30pm in County Hall, Matlock
Mark this important date, learn more about the Holocaust and other genocides relating to extreme hate crime. Featuring creative arts work by young people as part of the Speak Up, Speak Out project.
