Derbyshire Film: a scheme that used portable cinema equipment to provide film screenings in alternative venues, particularly in areas where cinema might not otherwise be available. The organisation Derbyshire Film no longer exists in its original form but film groups around Derbyshire continue and grow. If you are interested in setting up your own club or about finding out what’s on near you, see the film section of the Derbyshire Arts Development website.

Threads: Where have all the factories gone? The Threads project was set up to capture the oral history, memories and reminiscences of people who used to work in the Derwent Valley Mills, or lived nearby. These memories date from the 1920s up until the late 80s, when the last mills in Belper closed. Artists have used conversations and recordings to inspire songs, visual art and film which bring the words, memories and personalities to life.  To experience this for yourself explore the website
