This year’s Buxton Festival brochure and programme cover has been designed by local mixed-media artist Ingrid Karlsson-Kemp. Originally from Sweden, Ingrid has lived in Derbyshire for eight years and works from her studio in Upper Dovedale.
Inspired by storytelling, Ingrid’s work also combines magical scenery and seasonal colours. Ingrid creates rich, colourful textures developed from recycled paper-based materials, or stitched in fabric and fibre, using techniques including collage, mono-printing and crystalline water colour.
The newly created front cover image captures beautifully the magic of a Festival evening at Buxton Opera House.
