The next generation of art gallery: After Dark Gallery Charity Art Auction.

9 Derbyshire artists- Sally Newham, Sara Brighty, Rose Butler, Wendy Johnson, Tan Draig, Sarah Burgess, Sandra Greatorex, Jodie Cresswell-Waring and Sally Lemsford are donating artworks to the After Dark Gallery Charity Art Auction in Brighton to help raise money for Barnardo’s children’s charity.
This isn’t a typical gallery space or your usual night out.
It’s somewhere curiously different.
There are no crisp white walls and whispering at the After Dark Gallery Charity Art Auction, just overflowing creativity and an abundance of fun. There will be artworks for sale on the night to suit every taste and pocket, from prints and paintings to sculpture, embroidery, ceramics and installations. It's
the next generation of gallery for people from all walks of life.

Bill Drummond, Julian Opie, Jon Burgerman, Verbals Picks, Claudia Pilsl, Sally Sheinman, Tom Hackett, David Booth, Ivan Black, Liz Toole, Joanne Lee, Sophie Cullinan, Bob Memess, Ann Marriott, Kate Smith Designs, Deb Allitt, Mervyn Mitchell, Jackie Berridge, Andrew Law, Will Nash, Hester Jones, Rebekah Staples, Lucy Renshaw, Helen Dearnley and more.
Although it's in Brighton, people could still come along and find a wonderful range of artworks to buy and an exciting night out,
As well as artworks to peruse and bid for, there will be live music, a DJ and raffle.
It takes place on Sat 03.03.12. at 7pm – 1am at The Loft, 10 Ship Street, Brighton.
Tickets cost £7.50 + booking fee and can be bought from resident, 28 Kensington Gardens, Brighton, or tel: 01273 606312. Unfortunately it’s an over 18s event and due to the venue, there’s no disabled access, sorry.
Why Brighton? Well, this event is co-curated by mother and daughter Sally Lemsford and Stella Deacon. Stella Deacon, who was born in Derbyshire and who currently lives in Worthing and works in Brighton, will be running the London Marathon in April for Barnardo’s and this is one of her fundraising events.
