  • The Higher Level Stewardship (Natural England) project for Sinfin Moor Park has been completed, supported by Friends of Sinfin Moor Park LNR and Derby Parks Volunteers. The project is part of the restoration of the native wildflower meadows within the balancing pond and pylon fields. Part of this includes grazing fields with a low number of cattle in late summer and early autumn.

  • Following an incredibly popular preview at Derby Theatre in 2015, and a phenomenally successful, award-winning run  at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2016, JOAN, a Milk Presents  Production in association with Derby Theatre, has  embarked on another national tour and will play at the Wales Millennium Centre, The Oval House, Camden People’s Theatre, Lawrence Batley Theatre, Barnsley Civic, Birmingham Rep and at Touchstones Rochdale.

  • Artcore are running weekly Art for Life sessions every Wednesday from 1-3pm that enable positive health and wellbeing. Open for all ages of people with disability or learning difficulty, these sessions are innovative and engaging.   • Joli Vyann, acclaimed circus and dance company, following a successful run at the Edinburgh Festival 2016 are heading out on a 2017 national tour for the first time with their new show Imbalance. Exploring the digital chaos of our lives, the company are set to perform their stunning piece, fusing acrobatics, dance and circus, at Déda on Thursday 30 March.

  • The Play revolves around the antics at the Wicksteed home. It is a satirical merry-go-round. Family, friends and the sexual satisfaction of the "corpus" (body) are the ruling passions in this farcical comedy of ill-manners. Through a dance of mistaken identities and carnal encounters, one motto holds fast: "He whose lust lasts, lasts longest."

  • Belper Arts Festival 2017 is set to be the biggest yet as it incorporates theatre, art, music, dance, comedy, literature, photography and film. The  fifth Festival will run from 29 April to 29 May.

  • Today, producer Mark Goucher has confirmed that following the phenomenal success of the recent UK tour, the smash hit production of Hairspray will embark on a further major tour visiting Buxton Opera House from Monday 23 to Saturday 28 October. The big, bold and beautiful production of this much loved musical comedy will visit more than 30 venues across the length and breadth of the UK and Ireland until early summer 2018. Star casting will be announced in due course.

  • Derby City Council and partners are pleased to announce that they will present Weeping Window by artist Paul Cummins and designer Tom Piper as part of 14-18 NOW’s UK-wide tour of the iconic poppies.  The installation will be at The Silk Mill from 9 June to 23 July 2017.
