January 2010:
January is the start of a new year and new beginnings. We urge our readers to make good on their New Year’s resolutions to enrich themselves and get themselves an education! Whether it’s for professional development, or to give photography or life drawing a go, we profile Adult Education courses from around the County.  We also deliver on one of our own New Year’s resolutions, to bring the website up to date with new technologies. And so, we officially launch our Twitter and Facebook channels.

The first of our Derbyshire Heritage series will also be launched in January. Each month we’l l be adding a new article on the Heritage of Derby and Derbyshire theme. January is the month of the Musician. We’ll also round up contemporary musicians from the website.

February 2010: Apart from the full grip of wintry coldness, February brings love, on Valentine’s Day, and leisure (for some!) in Half-Term week. We’ll round up events for you and your children to help get you through the week!  If you are still footloose and fancy-free then perhaps we can muster some Valentine’s specials to woo your intended with.

And since the nights are still so dark and the days are still so cold, we’ll publish a round up of the cinemas around the City & County to help you find cosy viewings of films – big names and art house alike. To compliment this we’ll publish our second article in the Derbyshire Heritage series that focuses on films associated with the County.

March 2010: It is World Book Day in March and so we’re calling out to all venues and organizations that will be running related events. We look at places of importance to Derby and Derbyshire’s cultural heritage this month also, as we take you on a tour through the County from the very North to the very South pointing out places of interest along the way.

Running alongside this, contemporary Derbyshire has quite a few important places opening in 2010 also so we’ll profile new buildings opening in 2010. We’ll also round up the opening dates of the many stately homes, halls and abbeys around Derbyshire as they all throw open their doors to the public again in time for Spring arriving.
