Closing Date for Poetry Competition extended

The First Poetry Competition organised by Chesterfield Time Bank has generated so much interest that the closing date for entries has been put
back to November 28th.
Lucy Curtis project manager for the registered charity based at the Parish Centre on Sheffield Road said “The competition started off as another idea for our 140 plus members to get involved in, but it was suggested that we opened it up to non members. This made it easier to raise sponsorship for the prizes and allow us to charge a small fee of £3.00 for a first poem and only £1.00 for each additional entry. Being our first Poetry Competition I think we underestimated how many people would want information but we are on top of it now; our
sponsors have put up additional web pages at on our site and postal entry forms are available by calling the Time Bank office.” The CTB Poetry Competition is sponsored by local creative marketing company Blue Strawberry Elephant, has a first prize of £500 a second prize of £200 and two runners up prizes of £50 worth of book tokens.
Winners will be announced in February with a venue for the awards to be announced.
