BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award

BBC Radio 2 has launched the 2009 Young Folk Award and is looking for people aged between 15 and 20, performing folk, roots and acoustic music from any culture, to join in the annual UK-wide competition.

Prizes include gigs at top UK festivals, a BBC Radio 2 session and a year’s free membership of the Musicians’ Union. Entries will be judged this September and up to 12 acts will then be invited to the Semi-Final Audition Weekend in Stratford-on-Avon from 10 to 12 October.
