Rolls-Royce generously offer arts organisations valuable places on their internal training programmes, giving artists and arts organisations the chance to offer high-quality commercial training at no cost through Arts & Business.  These excellent courses are valued at £100 per day and take place at Rolls-Royce’s state-of-the-art Learning & Career Development Centre in Derby. All these courses are nationally accredited and are concentrated around important business issues. These courses are always popular, so please get in touch straight away to make your booking.  Negotiation Skills – Three day course

21st – 23rd October 2008

Areas covered by the course include:

Describing a process model for negotiation.
Identifying the criteria in planning for negotiation.
Recognising positive behaviours.
Examining personal style and reviewing it with peers.
Carrying out a structured negotiation. 
 

Fire Leader – Half-day course 13th May 2008

 Areas covered by the course include:
Why fires start
Causes of fire in the workplace
How to reduce the risk of fire in the workplace
A procedure for dealing with fire in the workplace
Assessing what action to take in the event of a fire.
Practical exercise in the use of fire extinguishers. 
 
Presentation Skills – Two day course

3rd & 4th November 2008 
At the end of this programme delegates will:

Be able to design and deliver a competent oral presentation
Be more confident of their ability to speak to groups of people
Be aware of the skills needed for effective presentations
Be aware of areas where they can continue to improve
 

 

Influencing Skills – Three day course

9th – 11th December 2008


Areas covered by the course include:

Defining the 4 main Motivational Value Systems (MVS).
Describing your own MVS and how to influence each MVS.
Defining assertiveness, passiveness and aggressiveness.
Describing the benefits of assertive behaviour for the individual & for your business.
Identifying preferred behavioural style.
Selecting and applying assertiveness techniques to address conflict situations.
Giving and receiving constructive feedback.
