Disability Arts Online
Disability Arts Online (DAO) at http://www.disabilityarts.org is an online journal which reflects upon the lives of disabled people from the unique viewpoint afforded by the arts. DAO is involved in supporting deaf and disabled artists in their continuing professional development and as such, it profiles and reviews work as well as being a point for discussion of the issues involved in this area of work.
DAO is planning to create a searchable database of disability arts and related projects as a resource for individuals, groups and professionals who wish to find out what is happening in the UK across the spectrum of the disability field. It is also also aiming to widen the scope of people who DAO currently reaches. Specifically, it is looking to make disability-related arts organisations, individuals and projects aware that they can list their details and events, news and opportunities on DAO's listings pages as well as receiving a 6-weekly bulletin. DAO also aims to gain a greater understanding of the specific interests of individuals/organisations so it can send targeted updates to enable people to engage with the work that it is doing.
If you would be interested in what DAO has to offer or if you may have any potential contacts
who may be interested in its work please contact Caroline Henderson at
