Once Bitten is the story of an almost fatal expedition to Mount McKinlay, Alaska in 1999. Severe frostbite in temperatures of minus 60 degrees almost cost Nigel his life, and he lost fingers and toes in a severe Arctic storm.

Cloud Cuckoo Land is an award winning British independent film which tells the story of Sandy Kenyon, a disabled man who has a dream to fly.

Georgina Harding will talk about her latest novel The Solitude of Thomas Cave. Set in 1616 it tells the story of Thomas Cave who makes a wager that he can remain over winter in the Arctic.

One of the best-known figures in British broadcasting, George Alagiah was born in Sri Lanka, grew up in Ghana and moved with his family to Britain in the 60s. A Home From Home is his moving autobiography of the immigrant experience and explores what he describes as the ‘umbilical connection with a place you left over 40 years ago.’
