Derbyshire Folk Musician Lucy Ward

Lucy Ward is one of Derbyshire’s rising stars. At only 22 she has already received plaudits for her début album “Adelphi Has To Fly” released in June 2011 by Navigator Records.

This album was successful in garnering critical praise from a number of publications and figures in the music industry. It attracted very positive reviews from Mike Harding, Verity Sharpe, The Guardian, Uncut, Mojo Magazine and Froots Mag; where her album was shortlisted among the best new albums of 2011.

Lucy Ward portraitLucy is an acoustic musician who plays guitar and concertina but really considers her voice to be her first instrument. Her sets are an eclectic mix of traditional and modern folk interpretations along with her own original (and award winning) songs.

Lucy has the ability to still an audience with the strength and purity of her voice and her breath-taking delivery. A fine songwriter and a consummate performer she stands to go far in the industry and represents one of Derbyshire finest and most exciting artists
